2026 Call for Papers: Strategic Trade Review
The Strategic Trade Review is launching a call for papers for its Winter 2026 issue. Manuscripts must be submitted by August 31, 2026 for consideration.
Call Concentration Areas: • Exploring the nexus between and/or all the following: export controls, investment screening, technology protection, intellectual property regulation, sanctions, and cybersecurity. How are these tools managed, coordinated, defined, and implemented to enhance international and national security? How should existing frameworks adapt?
• Sector specific studies in critical and emerging technologies and technology transfer pathways
• Investment screening: case studies in national implementation, best practices, lessons learned, coordination with other tools, inter-agency coordination, and prospects for multilateral discussion/standard setting
• Evolving proliferation threats: networks, strategies, threats, and how they impact the implementation of strategic trade management; how strategic trade implementation can better meet these threats
• Country experiences building strategic trade systems, lessons learned, and best practices
• Industry and academia practices. In particular: how to keep ICPs robust, effective, and timely to meet evolving risks; industry and academia risk assessment best practices
• Academia experiences in compliance and case studies; the role of research security in counterproliferation
• Cutting edge topics: what will be there focus areas in the mid/long-term for policy-makers? What changes will/can/should take place in the field in the future?
